How do you know for sure that God exists?

Someone asked me, "how do you know for sure that God exists?"... 

I answered, "A painting has a painter, a building has a builder, an art form has an artist, a child has a mother, and so likewise, the Creation, so vast and varied, so beautiful and complex, so wonderful to the soul, has a Creator, your Heavenly Father."
