Most of us know that commercial air fresheners don't really freshen up the air, but rather pollutes it. With its numerous chemical components and solvents that carry the fragrance, air fresheners could actually be pretty bad for our health. Some research suggested that it could lead to respiratory problems, impotency, etc.,
- A spray bottle (old perfume bottle should work)
- Cinnamon sticks
- Star anise spice
- Vanilla flavouring
- 1 Lemon
- First boil some water (about 1 cup) in a small vessel and add some cinnamon sticks and star spice in 3:1 proportion. Allow the spice to release it's flavour into the water.
- After 3 minutes of boiling, remove the vessel from the stove and place it aside for about 15 minutes to cool.
- Then squeeze a little lemon into it, and add about half a tea spook of vanilla flavouring into the mixture.
- Mix the contents thoroughly and strain the liquid into the spray bottle.
- Finally, pick out some of the strained cinnamon and star spice from the strainer, and put them into the spray bottle. This will allow even more diffusion of flavour into the solution over the next few days.
Shake the bottle before use, and spray! Safe to use, and sweet to smell :-).
P.s-Please make sure that there are no small components in the spray bottle as this may choke the nozzle.
